James M. Bagwell, SRPA, SRA, IFA

James M. Bagwell, founder of Bagwell Appraisal Service, has over forty years of real estate experience, as a salesman, broker and appraiser. A past member of the Alabama Real Estate Commission, Mr. Bagwell began his appraisal career in the early 1960s, and has devoted the vast bulk of his time to appraisal work since the early 1970s. He holds several appraisal designations, and has in fact trained many Birmingham area appraisers. He is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Alabama (G00122). He has testified as an expert witness in many Alabama judicial districts, has taught many real estate appraisal courses and is a VA fee panel member. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama. Due to health reasons, James is retired from the firm.

Clifford W. Bagwell

Clifford W. Bagwell began with the company as an inspector in the late 1970s and shortly thereafter began appraising, accumulating over twenty years in the field as of this date. After graduating from the University of Alabama, he served as an officer in the Special Assets Division of SouthTrust Bank, where he handled a variety of workouts, R.E.O.s, appraisal, portfolio analysis and related tasks. SouthTrust was recently purchased by Wachovia Bank and is not part of one of the largest banking institutions in the nation. In the course of his work with the bank, he evaluated the real estate portfolios of institutions under consideration for acquisition by SouthTrust in several states. Mr. Bagwell is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Alabama (G00121) and has earned the S.R.P.A. designation from the Society of Real Estate Appraisers. He has also testified as an expert witness, and is a past VA fee panel member.

Timothy J. Bagwell

Timothy J. Bagwell began as a field inspector with the firm prior to 1984, and in the late eighties after graduating from the University of Alabama, he began to perform appraisal services. In addition, from 1989 to 1991, he was employed by the Resolution Trust Corporation where he managed the Real Estate Owned department of Guaranty Federal Savings and Loan (Birmingham, Alabama) and also assisted in several other related departments for both this institution and City Federal Savings and Loan, also of Birmingham. He was primarily responsible for the management and disposition of bank-owned real estate with a total worth in excess of 60 million dollars. During and since his time with the R.T.C., Mr. Bagwell has appraised a wide variety of real estate, and now has over fifteen years of appraisal experience. He is contemplating pursuing an MAI/RM or SRA path, and is presently in the process of obtaining his General certification. He has testified as an expert witness in numerous judicial districts, is a Certified Residential Appraiser in Alabama (R00487), and is a VA fee panel member.
